Do you want to make a lasting impact in your community? You can help build the new Kids Kastle! We're looking for volunteers and sponsors to help accomplish our goal. We're building a playground for people of all ages and abilities. It will be a state of the art playground designed to be safe and engaging for families with children of varying capabilities allowing parents, grandparents, and disabled veterans with limited mobility to actively participate with their children and grandchildren on the move. We are seeking sponsorship's to help pay for items like:
- Improved surfacing that will allow adults and kids with limited mobility to easily traverse across the surface unlike engineered wood fiber which does not allow for a smooth, stable, and consistent surface for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids.
- A larger, covered seating area.
- Additional play features like the Woodland Fort and Caterpillar Climbers.
- A larger inclusive merry-go-round that will accommodate children of varying capabilities.
If you're more of the hands on type, we also need volunteers to help us build the playground once we break ground. Everyone (age 13 and up) can help, no special skills are required. Opportunities include construction, donated tools, catering, or you can serve on a committee (public relations, fundraising, special needs, or recruiting volunteers). In fact, we're looking for a few good people to head up some of the committees and roles such as a General Coordinator, Site Coordinator, Materials Committee, and Construction Crew Supervisors. We will be building Kids Kastle in two phases - Phase I will be March 23 - 26 and Phase II will be March 31 - April 5.
